We’re looking forward to a wonderful 2007 summer,

The Board Of Directors

                                                                                   May 24, 2007

Dear Club Members,

As you look around the Club, which will open its 2007 season this weekend, you will see many items that were discussed in my letter to you earlier this year.

Some of things the Board planned are still in progress and will be completed over the next several weeks. We still plan on replacing the picnic tables, but have not found any models so far that we deem to be satisfactory. Additional alternatives will be presented at the June Board meeting. Resurfacing of the hard tennis courts and the parking lot extension, which need dry, warm weather, are scheduled to be completed soon.

The most obvious change to the Club, however, you will see as you drive into the parking lot. Fencing has been added along the front of the property, creating a single entrance and exit during normal hours of operation. This was done by the Board to enclose the Club perimeter and provide additional safety and security for our Members, and particularly for our young children who play on the side of the Club, near the tennis backboard. They will no longer be able to run or wander out into the parking lot from that field. The single ingress also gives us the ability to better monitor who enters the Club. The Board believes the added security outweighed the minor inconvenience that would result from closing off access to the Club and the parking lot from the left side of building. Tennis players may still access the tennis courts through a gate in the fence during non-pool hours. The procedure for this, when completed, will involve a card system for gate entry and cards will be available to any tennis player or others who need them. For now, until the secured entry system is installed, the gate will be open when the pool is closed so there will always be access to all tennis courts.

After my previous letter was sent to you in January, we were informed that our friends who operated the snack bar for the last several years would no longer be able to run it. This was very late in the year to have to scramble to find someone who was available and capable of running a quality snack bar for the Club. While it took some time to accomplish, we are pleased that Able Caterers in Woodbridge has agreed to be our snack bar proprietor this summer. Unfortunately, the search process took us to the brink of the Club opening and Able Caterers needs a couple of weeks to clean the snack bar and get up and running. They advised us that they would open the snack bar no later than Saturday, June 9th. Their presence should add additional variety to the menu that will continue to provide the normal fare as well.

I hope you all have fun at the Club this summer and I look forward to seeing you there.

Very truly yours,

Ronald C. Osach
President 2007
